STEM kits like the Physics Solar Workshop V2.0 is a good green toy to educate your kids about green energy.
Like other green toys, it has received favourable reviews. Nevertheless, in line with my aim for Green Energy Helps, here is my unbiased review on this green toy.
5 solar-powered projects ranging from a simple rover to more complex models: a solar helicopter, robot, bug, to a cool movable praying mantis model can be built. All models can be powered by the provided solar cell or batteries.
A 48-page manual that is fully illustrated in colour with clear instructions is included to provide guidance.
Build projects like the simple rover model to show the conversion of sunlight to generate energy for motion. This demonstrates the basics of solar technology.
More complex projects like the bug with a climbing movement shows energy conversion and optimisation. Conduct simple experiments using this model to teach your kids about angle of inclination and movement.
The models can also be powered by a battery, allowing operation in all lighting conditions.
The 142 building pieces of the Thames and Kosmos Physics Solar Workshop V2.0 is fully compatible with the other kits.
