In my process of writing up this review, I have gone through most of the recent customer reviews. I have summarised the pros and cons of this Frigidaire 70 Pint Dehumidifier.
The Pros 🙂
The dehumidifying capability, ease of operation like the changing of a full water bucket, washable filter, and the ability to program your desired humidity level, quiet operating unit are some of the mentioned pros of this unit. Other mentioned pros include the efficient Frigidaire customer support though I must admit reviews have been very mixed ranging from inefficient to excellent.
The Cons 🙁
The well-documented continuous drain design flaw was a major problem until the add-on provided by Frigidaire, warranty issues especially in terms of duration of validity. Other mentioned problems include its automatic shut-off function, which will come into play when the water bucket is full that might cause a sudden rapid rise in humidity in your area of installation.
This means that you might have to empty the water bucket frequently especially if your place is very humid but this problem is solved by the fact that you can program your desired level of humidity so it might not be an issue. Another possible con might the loudness of the alarm lights that have been mentioned for Frigidaire FAD504DUD 50 Pint Dehumidifier.
The Frigidaire FAD704DUD is covered by a limited one-year warranty and a limited 2-5 year warranty on the sealed system (the compressor, condenser, evaporator and tubing). For one year from your original date of purchase, Electrolux will pay all costs for repairing or replacing any parts of this appliance that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship when such appliance is installed, used and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions.
From the second to the fifth year from your original purchase date, Electrolux will repair or replace any parts in the Sealed Refrigeration System (compressor, condenser, evaporator and tubing) that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship. In years 2-5, the consumer will be responsible for diagnostic, labor and parts costs as well as any removal, transportation and reinstallation expenses which are incurred during service on components other than those covered under the Sealed Refrigeration System 5-year warranty.
During the process of my research on this product, I also did some price comparison especially with the sites that contain customer reviews.
