Customer Reviews on Bosch Ariston GL2.5
I have read many customer reviews for Bosch Ariston GL2.5 and have summarised them below.
The Pros 🙂
Most of the comments for this Bosch water heater are positive; ranging from its space-saving capability, ability to be installed under the sink or kitchen cabinet, thus decreasing the distance of the water heater from your faucet and giving you almost instant hot water. Other positives mentioned by consumers include the thermostat for this unit that is able to heat the water to the set temperature with no fear of scalding while adjustment and its simplicity in setting up.
Consumers have also reported no sudden spikes in electrical usage after installation of this unit so dispelling the common myth that installing a tank water heater at home will increase your utility bills. So ultimately you have to determine which heated water system is best for you.
The Cons 🙁
However there are also some negatives about the Bosch Ariston GL2.5 that I have to highlight. Like all tank water heaters, it will be good to have a drain pan below your unit to prevent any leakage. The thermostat that comes with this unit is installed internally. To gain access to it for adjustment of temperature, you have to remove a cover plate and a few screws making it a possibly troublesome task especially if you need to do it often.
A dedicated 120V power outlet is also required for this unit; this heater requires 1500 watts, and it is not advisable to share that power point with your dishwasher, microwave or toaster to prevent any short circuit from happening in your household.
Other shortcomings observed are actually inherent for your region; if your regional water supply is high in minerals, you might need to clean out your heating element more often. Like all tank water heaters, sacrificial anodes will also need to be replaced to prevent your tanks from rusting out. All these will probably add to your maintenance costs so it is important that your supplier covers these aspects in the warranty.
